and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.”  2 Corinthians 9:11

Saturday’s weather was amazing! When we were contacted by the Flick family for a portrait session, we originally planned to take the photos in their home, assuming mid-November would be pretty cold.  We were so excited to have a sunny 66 degree day!  And I was thrilled with how they were dressed for the shoot.  I loved the slightly gothic and edgy look.  So when we met up in Leesburg, I loved having the challenge to search for more unique areas and textures that would go well with their look.  Vincent and Xander did awesome!  Such handsome little boys. Vincent is so photogenic and a great big brother.  He had lots of energy and was goofy at times, but totally cooperated when I wanted him to smile.  Xander had fun playing in the leaves and loved riding around in his little car.  As you can tell by the last picture in the slideshow, he wasn’t ready to leave!  Love working with such awesome families!  Check out some of our favorites, below…

Last Sunday was Orphan Sunday, and we had the absolute pleasure to celebrate the day by photographing the Steagall family.  Larry and Kelly adopted Nathanael from China in September 2008 and just brought home precious Jessie Mei less than one month ago!  It was so amazing to see how well Jessie Mei is already adjusting and bonding with her family, and Nathanael is such a sweet big brother.

Kelly mentioned later on that both children were actually classified as “special needs.”  I seriously had no idea!  You would never know that by being around them.  Just happy, beautiful kids….  “I think for us what has been so special is that both of our children were considered special needs and have medical issues we are dealing with, but you would never know it from looking at them or interacting with them.  So many people have different ideas of what a special needs or a waiting child would look like and to us they are just normal kids who need a forever family!  We have been so blessed by them, we wouldn’t ever consider doing it any other way.”

“Aunt Kelly” has been in my life – and a part of our family – for as long as I can remember.  I remember when Ben and Kate were born (which means I’m getting old since Ben is in 7th grade!) and they are such a special family to me.  While we were in town visiting my parents last Saturday, we were excited to catch up and take some photos before heading back to Gainesville.  The family had a crazy busy day already, with Ben and his team winning their soccer tournament!  (Yay Ben!) I’m so glad we were able to make it work with both of our tight schedules that day, and I’m excited to share their photos with you.

Along with being a wife, mother and teacher, Brandy is a very talented singer, guitarist and pianist.  So during the Stewart family session, we also wanted to get some photos just of Brandy with her guitars for her upcoming worship album.  The scenery and light that day could not have been more perfect and I was thrilled with the outcome… take a look for yourself…
